Venice ---

Had to head to Venice on Thursday to work with a client and find a store that might be a good fit for a line I carry.

I can't even remember the name of this store and it's been years since I've been inside ---- but I do love how they display. They comb every estate sale around and have a huge load of old furniture in the back of the store. Unfortunately, it's appointment only now. I used to love wandering around the place and looking at old cabinets, bed frames, hutches, etc.

Unfortunately, I think they're a bit of a rip off b/c their prices are sky-high. the plate stands START at $125. Seems a little steep to me.

But love the display!!

A Whale!!

Friday afternoon William and I picked up Emily from school and went to the beach. It was THE PERFECT day --- and we bumped into two families that we hadn't seen in a long time ---- which made it even more fun.

And for the first time EVER we saw a whale swimming by!! He was between the sailboat and the surfers ----- I didn't even attempt to capture him on the camera --- but it was SO exciting!!

All these years here and this is our first whale sighting --- just while we're playing on the beach! I've seen humpbacks off of Cape Cod on whale watching expeditions, which is incredible. But this was no less stunning --- the big guy surfaced with his back in the air and let off his spout! Another Golden California moment logged for the Byrne Family. Thank you CA!!!

Brian got off work early and joined us for a relaxing evening......wooh!

EASTER

It was a beautiful Easter day --- the kids were crazy excited the night before --- I felt like it was Christmas Eve all over again. And I was pretty proud of my basket selections --- some fun clothing, flip flops, books, small Legos and of course, CHOCOLATE!!!

Enjoyed a sensational brunch at the Meinhardt Home. Egg hunt for all the kids included!

Followed by a delicious dinner at our neighbors house. Yum!! Yum!! Thank you great friends!!

Cheezy Pototatoes

Been trying to get a few new side recipes ----

I should have bought the pre-cut potatoes--- it would have made things MUCH easier. In no way was this a low calorie dish --- but it was something different.

Loved the chives!! Yum!!
