I am always anxious with new things for my kids. Fortunately, Emily has grown up a lot and she seems willing and excited to tackle new adventures. I have come to realize her stregnths and try to move forward with those.
So, when she said she wanted to do Cheerleading, I was hesitant. Let me start off by saying Cheer is a HUGE commitment. It's $$$. They start in the summer. There's been a full day camp (on a Sunday) and a pep rally (on a Sunday) and now the season is about to "officially" start, she'll continued practices 2x a week and then games on the weekends (at 8 AM!
But I'm really impressed with the Cheer standards. This is no frilly, dancy, not really serious thing. This is a sport. And everyone is to treat it like a sport ---- Cheer has to follow the same standards as the football team. Three tardies and you're out!
And best of all, Emily seems to like it!!! Yeah!!
Ready for the Pep Rally
