After Christmas and between New Years, we really wanted to do some fun family stuff. We looked into Disneyland, but just couldn't justify the cost. That's A LOT of money when you've just spent A LOT of money on the holiday season AND the parks at capacity at this time of year!
So...we brain stormed some other ideas.
And decided on some kayaking in the Marina.
It was a gorgeous day!
The kids were super excited! And we all really loved it.
We looked at boats and got a kick out of what some folks named their crafts. I found a dreamy sailboat that I tried to think of what I'd name "her". Brian was kind enough to offer up, "Money Pit". *sigh*
We saw lots of birds and seals! It was super exciting to see them snoozing on the docks. They weren't surprised to see us and gave a few barks then went back to their naps.
Balancing your phone, oar and kayak makes taking a good picture hard!!!
But you get the idea......
It was a great day!
Side note: Brian and I had sopping wet butts --- we should have worn bathing suits! We had packed scooters for post-kayaking and then grabbing lunch, but we were so wet and chilly that we only grabbed an ice cream and headed home. :)
